Trail 6 begins at the eastern trail kiosk at a junction with Trail 2. It is a graveled BPA service road traversing rolling hills as it climbs steadily westward, passing junctions with Trails 46 and 56 and crosses Buckbrush Creek, one of the park's ephemeral streams (note: use the stepping stones during high water flows in the rainy season!). From the creek crossing, Trail 6 climbs more steeply up Mt. Pisgah's southern ridge to a junction with Trail 36, where it narrows into a bare-earth trail ascending the ridge up to the summit.
