The Canal View Trail is really a series of trails and cut-throughs, accessible from the Bridgewater Road entrance. These little-known and little-used trails lead hikers to the banks of the Great Miami River, through a woodland and pockets of edge thicket and open grasslands. Look for remnants of the path of the Miami-Erie Canal, which traveled through this section of the park and North Park, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Trails are unmarked, so travel carefully. Some portions of the trails are steep as you head to or from the river.
