South Fork Trail is a moderately strenuous trail that provides connectivity between Coyote Peak Trail, Ritchey Canyon and Redwood Trail. The Trail follows a skid road that goes along a side canyon. The skid road was originally used by pioneers to haul out redwoods. After about 0.4 miles, the trail leaves the skid road and continues at an easier grade. Just before rejoining Spring Trail, there is a spur trail where hikers can enjoy a view of Ritchey Canyon.
