Trails in the South Bottomlands explore floodplains, meadows, and side channels (sloughs) along the Coast Fork of the Willamette River. Birding and other wildlife watching is possible along all trails, and the South Bottomlands Bird Blind offers further opportunity for wildlife viewing. These trails are level or very gently sloped, with grass or bare earth surfaces. Access to the South Bottomlands is gained from the West Parking Lot (adjacent to Mount Pisgah Arboretum) southward on Trail 5, which has a level-to-gently-sloping gravel surface.
