Middle Trail 3 traces a line across the upper western face of Mt. Pisgah above the Arboretum. It is a rustic, single track trail, with rough footing, muddy conditions in the wet season, and is crowded by blackberries and poison oak. It starts at a junction with Trail 1, and passes southward by a junction with Trail 35 which connects down to the Arboretum. Along the way it crosses several unsanctioned rogue trails that descend from the Summit, crosses under a BPA power line corridor at a junction with Trail 36, then descends the side of the mountain to Buckbrush Creek and Trail 56.
