Spooner Ranch House offers a unique glimpse into the location’s past. From the Native people originally inhabiting the Pecho Coast over 9,000 years ago, to European explorers, ranchers and farmers, Montaña de Oro has been a home to humans. A visit to the house provides a glimpse into what life was like for the Spooner family in the early 1900’s, with period furnishings and the opportunity to interact with living history volunteers as members of the Spooner family. The Ranch House serves as a visitor’s center for the park with trail maps and park information. The Spooner Ranch House also includes a gift shop, with a variety of park-related merchandise available for purchase.
The Spooner Ranch House is open to the public. Seasonal hours may vary. Check https://centralcoastparks.org/portfolio-item/mdo-spooner-ranch-house/
