Did you know that Castle Rock is situated in the ancestral territory of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe? With Muwekma's blessing and participation, the Amah Mutsun Land Trust has partnered with Sempervirens Fund to install and tend this garden, which is full of plants that people have used for food, medicine, and utility purposes for many thousands of years. Visitors are encouraged to use the rock-lined wood chip paths to get close to these special plants.
Visit www.sempervirens.org/events to join an upcoming garden tending day, where tribal representatives share traditional stories and information about the plants.
