Castle Rock Trail Camp is a hike-in backcountry camp site. It's about 2.6 miles from the main parking lot at Castle Rock State park via the Saratoga Gap trail.
This is a first come, first served site. No reservations are required, but you need to register at the main Castle Rock entrance. Camping costs $15/night. There are usually some openings during peak season.
Sites 1-5 are at Frog Flat, which is 0.2 miles from the main camp. Sites 11-25 are all close to each other. (Sites 6-10 don't exist.) There's a shelter you can stay under during inclement weather. You can also bike in from the Service Road, but you can't take your bike past this location.
***ALL HIKERS MUST BRING THEIR OWN WATER *** The water tanks at Castle Rock Trail Camp are being serviced and the local creeks have very little flow and may contain heavy metals.
