Buckbrush Creek is one of the park's ephemeral, or seasonal, streams.  Its rainy season flows cascade over rocks in its channel, exposing bedrock in several areas.  Spring seeps flow from adjacent hillsides into the creek, adding to rainy season flows. Trails 6, 56, and East Trail 3 cross Buckbrush Creek.
