By the Parent Team at Daycation
This Daycation is perfect for little bookworms and is also a great way to pass a hot summer day. Start with a coffee and some pie from Caffe Destino, then head over to the Albina Library for a story time and to check out some books. Next, walk around the corner to one of our favorite children's books stores, A Children's Place. Read some more, or find your new favorite author, before heading down the street to Irving Park for a bit of play time. This park has a cool modern play structure, a splash pad in the summer, and big trees for shade. Once your little ones have run off some energy, relax on a blanket in the grass, read another story, and have a picnic.
*Note: There is also a Whole Foods right next to the library, so if you don't have time to pack a picnic, you can always pick up some quick snacks here to take with you to the park.
