The Oyster Bar Marsh Conservation Area is a large mangrove wetland/impoundment that extends from the barrier island into the Indian River Lagoon. Purchased in conjunction with the Indian River Land Trust, this 96-acre parcel provides refuge to numerous wading birds, fish species, and herpetofauna. Its proximity to the Round Island Conservation Area creates a broad, shallow expanse of River bottom suitable for seagrass establishment and potential manatee foraging.

The site has nearly two miles of lagoon frontage which features a pedestrian trail along its perimeter, including boardwalks and wetland and lagoon overlooks. You'll find ample parking at the site's entrance, along with a short trail featuring native, pollinating plants for bees and butterflies.
