John A. Finch, born in England, became a principal in Hecla Mining in the late 1800s. With part of his wealth he became a local philanthropist. His contributions to the local area are commemorated in this fifty-plus-acre parcel of land, which is home to thousands of trees and native shrubs. The park occupies space between I-95 and Sunset Boulevard.
