The Denton Tract is a small area that is preserved to mitigate for impacts to CR 510 road widening. There is a short, but beautiful trail that meanders from scrubby flatwoods to an area along the South Prong Slough.  The Denton parcel provides a buffered protective area to the South Prong Slough which ultimately leads to the Sebastian River.  Buffers like these reduce pollution to these protected and waterbodies.  The site contains a small area of scrubby flatwoods near the parking area and then dips down into a freshwater floodplain with large water hickory trees, ferns and native vegetation.
